In July 2024, I was made redundant after years in a stable role.
I remember staring at my old CV and LinkedIn profile thinking, “Where do I even start?” Job adverts had changed. AI was everywhere. Application systems felt colder and more automated. At the same time, I was seeing more and more stories about older workers being overlooked or quietly filtered out.
I realised I had two choices:
- Keep guessing alone and hoping something would shift, or
- Learn how AI actually worked and use it to present my experience more clearly.
I chose the second.
I started by learning tools like ChatGPT and testing them on my own documents: rewriting my CV, reshaping my LinkedIn summary, drafting cover letter wording and refining it again and again. I learnt how to ask better questions (prompts), how to keep my voice, and how to avoid the “AI wrote this for me” feel.
The more I learned, the more I realised something important:
AI Plainly was born out of that gap.
I don’t promise job offers, and I don’t act as a recruiter. Instead, I sit on the same side of the table as you and show you how to:
If you’re a professional between roughly 40 and 65 who’s felt left behind by all the AI noise, AI Plainly is here so you don’t have to figure it out alone.
